PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES TIME HAS COME; THE LOSING STOPS HERE

-The Phillies begin their run at the title after finally winning a postseason series when defeating the Milwaukee Brewers in 4 games. This actually showed they had the potiential to make a run at the title; they certainly are.

-A tremendous amount of weight has been lifted off of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies havent reached the NL title since 1993, but after defeating The Milwaukee Brewers 6-2, closing the series 3-1. Players such as Pat Burrell and Jimmy Rollins has been with the team the longest and have now felt the joy of victory. These 2 players havent seen or been through all of the struggles that the Phillies have suffered but they have felt the pain since arriving to the team 8 years ago. The bad press, the booing, the failure stops here; the two longest tenured phillies finally witnessed something they have waited for a long time.

Jimmy Rollins

-“I always said, when I got here, that I wanted to try to change the tradition. I said it to myself, ‘We need to change the mentality, change the way people think about this organization, change the way the young kids feel about being in this organization.’ And the only way you can do that is by winning,” Rollins said.

-“To have played on some teams that were not very good, and to play against other teams in September that were getting ready to go on to the next level, I’ll be honest. There was a sense of jealousy. You just wanted to be part of that, to experience that,” Reminisced Burrell.

-Congradulations to the Philadelphia organization but they still have to more to go. Dont plan for a parade yet.

-The Phillies will face the Los Angeles Dodgers on 10/9 @ Philadelphia in the League Championship.
